With over a decade on the stage, Hans (the satirical creation of Australian media identity Matt Gilbertson) has become an Adelaide cabaret icon and a darling of the Fringe circuit. In 2016, Hans packed out the Spiegeltent with Viva Hans Vegas, which delighted critics and audiences alike, picking up an Adelaide Fringe Weekly award for Best Cabaret. Hans’ 2017 critically acclaimed show, Mein Camp, won him a Made In Adelaide award at this year’s Adelaide Fringe festival as well as yet another Adelaide Fringe award for Best Cabaret. This success was replicated at his first Edinburgh Fringe Festival earlier that by being awards Best Cabaret from the Scottish Sun as well as sold out shows and numerous five star reviews and was nominated for Best Cabaret in 2018 at Perth's Fringe World Festival. Earlier this year Hans nabbed the Pick Of The Fringe award at the Adelaide Fringe Weekly Awards and is currently preparing for a UK tour, including a return to the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as performances in the USA. Famed for countless television and radio appearances, as well as his Guinness World Record title for playing 29.5 straight hours of Madonna on the accordion (yes, really), Hans has become a favorite of audiences around the world.
